Hey guys, for those who are new around here Zoro's flash sales are some of the cheapest times to buy Ego batteries and accessories. They usually offer 30% off 3-4 times per year, but 25% off is almost as good if you need some goodies to get through the season. $175 minimum purchase for discount.

Sample Prices:
7.5Ah Battery: $280.66
5.0Ah Battery: $238.69
15" String Trimmer w/ 5.0Ah Battery: $290.26

And if you get anything you'll definitely want to add on one of these:

String Trimmer Shoulder Strap: $10.79

From the US, south of the border means Mexico. Is that where you are David?

I'm assuming the reference is the Canada /US boarder?

Guess I could get off my lazy.... and Google Zoro.

Blue Angel is in Canada, so by south of the border he means the US. Canadians are weird, eh?

Zoro is a subsidiary of Grainger that targets smaller customers than their parent company. Contractors, small businesses, residential. Generally Zoro is cheaper than Grainger unless you purchase enough from them to have a volume pricing agreement.

Thanks, it's great that each person who is on here regularly offers a different kind of help. And of course those that are less frequent in the forums.

David with your details, and thoroughly well thought out often posts.

Not trying to get all gooey... Just saying thanks.

Zoro has a 4 hour 30% off flash sale today, 10am-2pm CT only.

And apparently Zoro has all of the new 21" mower kit variations, as well as other tool kits with different batteries included. Looks like only the backpack blower and snow blower are still exclusive to Home Depot now.

David, I know that both Amazon and HD are "authorized dealers" for EGO power tools.  And since we need to provide our receipt to EGO for "warranty" coverage, will EGO accept purchases from Zoro?

Zoro and their parent company Grainger are both authorized retailers.

First, I have to convince my wife I need the 7.5 Ah battery since I returned the 21" SP.  Once in the clear, I will shop until my fingers are numb !!!!!

Ordered another 5.0Ah battery to pair with my 16" chainsaw one when I get the tool-only snowblower this fall =)

Now I just need to eBay/Craigslist the 4.0Ah battery!

So did anyone take advantage of the sale?

Since they did not have the new backpack leaf blower, I did not buy anything at this time.  However, if you are in the market for a new battery, then the sale prices are "awesome!"  If you notice, the "higher" the Ah battery you buy, the "greater" the savings.  See the comparison below:

Home Depot vs Zoro (including the 20% discount)
  • 2.0 Ah ( $129.00 vs $122.15 )
  • 2.5 Ah ( $129.97 vs $123.35 )
  • 4.0 Ah ( $199.99 vs $163.93 )
  • 5.0 Ah ( $219.99 vs $175.99 )
  • 7.5 Ah ( $379.00 vs $299.37 )

Plus Zoro charging no sales tax is a nice additional savings... $25 on the 7.5Ah. But the 20% off prices still seem so high after seeing the 30% off prices this morning!

I did see a 5.0Ah blower kit for $129 before discount, which has to be a wrong description or price error, but would be a heck of a deal if they honored it!

I know right, but unfortunately, I don't need anymore battery at this time.  The sales always occurred when we don't need it - that's life!

If you ordered at the right time and used the right coupon, the 5.0Ah battery came out to be $153.99, no tax and free shipping!  This was my ending cost, although its backordered...
