My mower starts and runs very fast then quits. The battery light flashes yellow. When i hook it up to the charger it has all 4 green bars. Any idea what is wrong?

Considering the "heat dome" we've had, it may just be too hot.

Check to make sure battery is in cool location and away from humidity as best as possible. Yellow flashing indicates excessive heat.

I haven't used the mower in a couple weeks and it hasn't been as hot here the last few days.

Make sure there is no string or anything around blade spindle. Does blade move freely by hand?

Nothing around the spindle. Yes the blade moves freely.

Rapid spin up sounds like a startup sequence issue. I would bet that the controller cant read the rpm of the motor and is in failsafe mode. So call cust service

We've encountered the same problem with the blinking yellow light on the 4.0 battery that came with our 20" mower.  After sitting inside for a few weeks (next to a AC vent to boot), it started with the blinking yellow light even though it is fully charged.  Sometimes it will turn green and work in the mower but then cut out quickly.  The documentation says the blinking is due to overheating but it's been in the AC and not getting hot.

Since we have a 2.0 battery from our leaf blower, we know it's not the mower or the charger because both are working fine with that.

Glad I found my receipt and registered.  Next step to call customer service.

I have to add that despite this battery issue, we have been very happy with the Ego products.  Looking to get the chainsaw next.

Great to hear Chris. Glad you see a bad battery for what it is and don't hold it against the brand.

Looking forward to the backpack blower myself!
