I am in year 5 of the first generation 20" mower with 4AH battery. The mower is behaving today like it did when I first bought it. It can cut and mulch grass as well as a gas mower. If the grass is too high to mulch (clogging the mower), pulling the mower backward cuts the grass anyway without mulching it. Bagging in that case is not an option because the bag fills far too quickly. The side discharge doesn't work as it wants to fall off at the slightest bump. So I always use the mower in mulching mode. The green clamps wore out after year 1 and constantly popped open by the slightest bump, but I am still using them by strapping them in place with an old horse halter where they never move. The height lever was always VERY hard to move, so I forced it to its highest setting and leave it there...I wish it would go higher though. The battery charges in 30 minutes and lasts 45 minutes (a little less after 4+ years). The mower gets finicky with the battery...sometimes not running after inserting the battery, but pulling it out and pushing it back in a couple times gets it working. I don't know why it does that, but it always has. The mower HATES to run on hot days, turning yellow as in overload, and I have to take several unscheduled breaks when the motor overheats and I have to wait for it to cool. It's not the battery doing this, as I replace it with a fresh one and it still doesn't work. The green "key" strap broke, so I replaced it with a carabiner, but it's a kludge. I have replaced the blade once after sharpening it a few times. Finally, I posted this under Praise because I still love the mower, but it does have its quirks.
