Love my 1 year old ego mower, but today I have a problem that needs fixing...

While cutting a flat yard that was neither high nor wet the mower suddenly stopped. I assumed it was the battery even though it had just been charged and I had only been cutting for 15 minutes. I tried to restart and it restarted fine. Then, as soon as I began moving forward the mower died again.  Several more tries with same result.  Sounds fine and blade turns on restart but as soon as the mower hits grass it stops.

I took the battery back to the charger. The indicator shows full charge, not defective or any other bad indicators.

Any help is appreciated...

This sounds like a case where you'll need to talk to Ego Customer Service:

Hello David! Thank you for your post and we are sorry to hear that your mower shuts off as you described. As member David described, it could be the issue with your handle clamps not securely fastened, which is a safety feature that is designed to shut down the mower if they are not secure. If you have already tried this, please either send an email to with your contact number so that one of our EGO specialists can get back to you; -or- give us a call back at 855-346-5656 today so we can troubleshoot further.
