Will you ever come out with a self propelled snow blower?

I have your lawn mower and love it.  But for snow removal, I currently have a two stage self propelled gas powered model.  As a smaller, middle aged woman,  I can't imagine buying a snow blower I have to physically man handle through heavy snow.  But I hate the fumes and chemicals of my gas powered.  Long story short, I just can't purchase the EGO snow blower until it is self propelled. :(

Don't hold your breath, Everyone has been pleading for two years. They have the tech, they just seem to be choosing to not do it. only thing that actually enrages me about Ego. We love our Ego blower, but I'm like you, small and simply can't manage the current one in tough conditions. :(

To be fair, if your area is pretty flat, it works really well and those areas are not too hard for me to do. We just also have a couple of hills on our drive that I can't push it up. My better half hero cleared our 400 ft drive with it today. 4" with deep drifts.

Contrary to what many think, it's not that hard because the snow kinda makes the blower glide with just a little effort. My recent experience with 10-15" was rather easy in one pass. I was so pleased that I went ahead and blew the street in front of our house also. I'm 69 years old and being an active athlete, my conditioning is probably many years my junior. Suspect if EGO ever developed a self-propelled, the pricing would increase at least 50% and would also require 2 batteries far pass the 7.5 Ah to handle the additional power required. That puts it up to $1200+ and probably more.

Excellent points.  Hopefully the price wouldn't be too crazy, but yes, the cost, batteries and weight would be sure to increase.  The light weight of the single stage is one of its best features, and I agree that it glides along nicely with little effort under most conditions.

Hi Kathleen,

A larger, more powerful two stage snowblower is on a lot of people’s wish list. I personally hope Ego is working on it, but they usually don’t share their future products until close to their release dates.

I do have to ask, have you ever used a small lightweight single stage snowblower? I was talking about it to my neighbour a while back, he is a small man in his 70s and has a 24 inch dual stage gas snowblower. His is self-propelled, but he does struggle with it when it comes to pulling it backwards and turning.

The Ego is not the best machine for tackling the big pile at the end of the driveway after the plow goes by, but I find it an extremely easy tool to use for the rest of the driveway. It will do the plow pile, but it does take some effort.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, I think the Ego does have its place even when considering larger machines. Having said that, a larger two stage with self propel would be incredible!

As a mid-aged not-so-tall man with a history of neck issues, I found the EGO isn't as bad to push despite it not being self-propelled. The EGO's limitation is less for it's lack of self-propelled and more so because of the limitations in general of a single-stage snow blower (whether gas, electric, self-propelled, non-propelled). Because of my neck issues, the lack of vibration with an electric snow blower compared to a gas two-stage is a huge benefit of the EGO. My point is I wouldn't let the lack of self-propelled prevent you from buying this snow blower. Having said that, yes I really wish EGO would make a two-stage.

If and when they do, I'm sure I won't be giving up my single stage Ego.  I'd just have to make room for two.

Remember HD has a 90 return policy on Ego products.  You can always purchase one and if you find it does not work well for your needs(ie to hard to push), you can return it for a full refund.

Please tell me why EGO doesn’t have a SP snowblower yet? Haha.

I just seen this local guy on the news. He made this. 2 hour run time and can carry/tow up to 300lbs.
