Why does ego battery sometimes not charge immediately after use?

Periodically the ego battery won’t charge when charged immediately after use. This occurs approx 1 out of 10 times. Pretty sure that the indicator on the battery goes ‘red’ and the charger indicators definitely don’t ‘move’ as they typically do during a charge. The batteries and charger are approximately 9 months old. I’ve considered that perhaps the battery needs to cool down before it is allowed to charge??? I say this because the battery will finally charge after a min or so as I remove it and reset it a few times hoping that it starts to charge. Any ideas? Thanks!

Check the contacts are clean and there is no debris on either the battery and the charger.

My first thought was that, due to the automatic battery protection system, you weren't running down the battery enough (it needs to fall below a certain charge threshold 70%? before it will take a recharge.)  But since it starts charging eventually after you manipulate it, it  might be something keeping the contacts from registering with the charger.

Also, try the universal electronic cure of unplugging the charger, waiting a few moments, and plugging it back in. Let the lights finish flashing, then seat the battery.  Just throwing out suggestions.

Much appreciated. Didn’t know about the 70% thing, good to know. Thanks!

Tim, I had this happen few times also. You could be right- has to cool down or it’s not fully discharged. Bottom line it does charge. Wish I had the charge meter on my charger
