A pair of wheels that could attach to the shaft of the ST1501-S string trimmer so it can be more easily used sideways as an edger. Perhaps some sort of clamping mechanism on the wheel assembly around the shaft of the trimmer that could be easy to install or remove the wheels as needed.

Sounds like a good DIY project.  Personally, I just didn't put the handle on and just hold the trimmer by the pole and it is really easy, once you've practiced a bit, to edge.  Try doing it from the lawn side instead of the sidewalk side so when the trimmer kicks itself back, it kicks itself away from the lawn instead of toward it.  Once you get good at edging without "training wheels", it becomes a breeze.

Yeah, I'm good enough without "training wheels" as you call them but something like this could be helpful for someone with limited abilities or strength and might need a little support holding the trimmer for any length of time.

That should be sold as an accessory, it is actually an idea that my mom would really like.  Or even just with a single attachable wheel like what is built in to Black and Decker trimmers.

Someone built something and posted on this forum, I went looking but couldn't find it.  I seem to recall it has 3-D (additive manufacturing) printed parts.

I was going to suggest the same thing.  I currently have a Ryobi cordless blade edger and a Ryobi cordless string trimmer.  Both of them have wheels.  The string trimmer head rotates 90 degrees so you can use it as an edger.  I prefer edging with the string trimmer rather than the blade edger because it makes a cleaner cut.  Most of my edging is between grass and bark mulch.  The wheel allows me to hold the trimmer at a consistent height so the string never touches the bark.  Plus it's much easier on your back because the weight of the edger is on the wheel.  My only complaint about the Ryobi is that the handle is a little short for my 6' 2" height and I have to bend over more than I like.  I love EGO products and would buy the string trimmer if it had this feature.

Does Ego really listen to suggestions/comments? How would customer know whether Ego is considering working on it or releasing the attachment? I would like to see a wheel attachment to the trimmer that also can rotate 90 degrees.

I know that EGO listens to our comments and they are brought to the table every day to discuss.
