What is the latest information on the high lift blade?  I've seen posts where people actually have received them, but I can't find them on the EGO, Home Depot, or Amazon websites?

Hey Adon, do some scrolling around on here and you'll see several threads going on about it. It all seems very hit or miss with Amazon, and nothing going on with HD or EGO sites. Maybe this thread will reveal something new.

It looks like Amazon had a small shipment that sold out quickly, I'd imagine they will be getting more.

Nothing on Home Depot yet.

I ordered from Amazon on April 20.  Got one email from Amazon that delivery was to be sometime between May 19 and June 6.  Got another email on May 2, and it said the delivery has been upgraded to arrive between May 9 and May 13.  Amazon site says it's expected to ship May 8 (tomorrow). We'll see if it really happens, it's crazy.  Can't wait to try it out!

Would you guys that were smart enough to pre-order on Amazon just shut up?

The rest of us are trusting Ego will make them available, and it makes us feel like the dummies we apparently are....

j/k (about shutting up)

How the hell is it Amazon got some - but we can't?

bloomz: The fact that Ego elected to release a quantity of HL blades to Amazon and not even announce their availability on this site, tells me a lot about their customer service and management. I don't have any idea why they would do such a thing to their most ardent supporters who frequent this site and provide valuable feedback to current and prospective customers. I challenge the Ego rep to explain.

Challenge accepted, Harry. We cannot make an official announcement that something is available until our customers can actually purchase it. Thus, we have to wait until we receive official notification from the vendor that something has been made available. Despite all of our poking and prodding, our vendors sometimes neglect to notify us and we end up finding out at the exact same time as you. It’s something we’re actively working to fix, but without getting into further details, is often an uphill battle.

One thing I can tell you is that Home Depot does what it wants, when it wants when it comes to making products available in its stores and on its website. Ego has no control over that.

ah, so why won't Ego sell PARTS direct to consumers like MANY, MANY other companies?  Good god, I've gotten parts for products from countless companies, without being at the mercy of a big-box store.

and don't answer my question if you are not an EGO rep!!

Since you asked the question in response to my post I'll answer you anyway, even though I'm not an Ego rep.

Ego is a relatively new company that isn't set up to do direct-to-consumer sales. I know from experience that there are logistics involved in doing something like that. You have to have warehousing, shipping services and infrastructure, secure payment infrastructure. And that last one is pretty big. It's one thing to ship out a free part for a warranty claim, but it's another to be able to process credit card information as well as dealing with thousands of different sales tax districts.

One thing's for sure; constantly poking and prodding at the nice people here (Jennifer and Amber) who are trying the best they can surely will not motivate them to do more.  Ego's strategy for product distribution is confidential and proprietary, so demanding they answer likely isn't going to get an answer.

It is sad that while human knowledge doubles every 12-13 months, it is unfortunate that kindness, compassion and generosity have not followed suit.
