What can the Nexus do?

Hello. Love my EGO lawn mower and snowblower. Could you tell me if the Nexus would be good to have for a power outage? I know it could recharge cell phones and tablets, but could it be used for a water kettle to heat water? A lamp? A small heater? Can the Nexus use the 7.5A batteries? Does it use 1 or 2 batteries? Thank you

Watch and read

Nexus can use any Ego battery including the 7.5A
It uses 1 battery at a time.

>Could it be used for a water kettle to heat water? A small heater?
No, maximum power output of the inverter is 1.25 A at 120 volts (150 watts) which is too low for restive heaters.

>A lamp?
Yes, up to a 150 watt bulb, but your runtime will be a lot longer if you use a LED bulb

>Can the Nexus use the 7.5A batteries?
Yes. This extends the runtime, but does not increase the 150 watt maximum output.

>Does it use 1 or 2 batteries?
One battery at a time.

I received mine last Friday. I was glad to see the small footprint of the Nexus. I bought it for my ceramic Kamado grill that I use to slow cook. I have a wi-fi temperature controller that requires a 12V supply. My grill station is far enough away that I need to run a long extension cord to the grill. Portable batteries were in the same price range as the Nexus so it was an easy decision.

Agree, I was happily surprised by its small size.

I used mine, a couple of days ago, to recharge my laptop battery. Worked great for that.

Similarly to Oregon Mike, I also used it to charge my laptop computer.  Matter of fact, currently using the same 5.0 Ah to do my 2nd charge.  I am testing to see how many charges I can get from my 5.0 Ah battery ... :-)

Ooo, picture in use. Good idea. That's a 2.5 ah battery on mine. I haven't tested  how many charges I can get with it yet.
