I purchased the powerhead with edger and string trimmer attachments last year with battery, it came with the 5ah battery and regular charger in that kit.  5ah would add a bit more weight over the 2.5ah, and is a tad unbalanced towards the powerhead end when using the string trimmer attachment but longer run time is the benefit.  As I also purchased a blower that came with a battery and charger giving me a back up battery, I didn't have a need for the rapid charger's faster charge times

If you don't already have a battery, check the kits that include a battery as it is usually cheaper than buying a bare kit and loose battery separate.
Thank you so much for the advice! I certainly appreciate your input! Have a wonderful weekend.

Any EGO battery or charger is compatible, but keep in mind the higher the Ah, the heavier the battery is.

All of Ego's batteries are compatible with all tools. The 2.5 Ah or 5.0 Ah battery are both good choices. The only difference is how long each will last on a charge. I can't imagine you needing more than the 2.5 Ah battery with the edger. It's lighter in weight, too.

I prefer the standard charger because I think, long-term, it's easier on the batteries. Even at the slower rate it will charge the 2.5 Ah battery in less than an hour!

Here's the charger: https://egopowerplus.com/charger-standard/

I am so very grateful for your kind assistance! Hoping you gave a wonderful weekend!

If you go out and buy the cheapest battery and charger it will cost you around $200. I recommend buying the 530 CFM blower currently on sale for $149 and you’ll get the 2.5 battery, regular charger, and a really nice blower for the price of the 2.5 battery alone.
