Today the chain saw (Ego 16 inch) blade kept slipping off and finally the washer assembly disappeared (I assume flew off). I read a review here of a similar problem about a "washer and clip" that holds the chain blade to the turning wheel. Without this small piece, the entire unit is rendered useless! I went to Home Depot today and they said "no, we don't carry Ego parts like that - go to the hardware store and they might have such a washer." (!)

Mike, are the parts you need seen in the exploded view from the manual?

Either way, you’ll need to contact Ego Customer Service and they’ll get you the help you need.
I have had any problems with my saw. I would EGO for warranty parts

I had that problem and after buying a replacement BAR at HD, the problem went away.  Just a slight bend in the bar can cause all kinds of problems.  It's often not an easy thing to see with the naked eye.  They are very inexpensive and I don't think a bent bar qualifies as a warranty issue.  It's something we do in use.  https://www.homedepot.com/p/EGO-16-in-Chainsaw-Bar-for-CS1600-and-CS1604-AG1600/206757885

The washer "may" be part of your problem though.  Alignment is everything.
