warranty registration for replacement parts?

I did look and thought it best to ask the question outright.  If you get a replacement part from EGO do you need to register the serial number of that part to continue the warranty?

I have Ridgid and they have the unmentioned requirement that if you get a product fixed under warranty, that you need to re-register the new part to continue to get coverage.

In my case, I purchased one of the 16" chainsaws and sadly the charger gives off a terrible grinding noise (above what a fan should) and smells like burning plastic.  Not a good thing, so EGO is sending me a new charger.  As the original is clearly defective, and might be dangerous to use, it makes sense to simply throw it out so you don't accidentally use it and burn your house down.  But the new one being sent will have a different serial number.  I'd hate to 2 years down the road have an issue with the replacement and call to be asked the serial number and told i don't have any warranty as it wasn't registered.

The same can hold true to batteries.  I am starting to buy product now.  As I have two batteries right now it is easy to know that in 2019 those two batteries will be out of warranty.  But I can see in a couple of years I will purchase a lawnmower and it would make sense to buy the kit with the batteries.  How do people track what is and is not under warranty?  Throw in if you have a battery that fail then you could be under serial number hell trying to know what is and is not covered.

We only ask that you register a replacement battery, charger or tool. No need to register any other part (there aren't serial numbers on anything else).
