Can someone one help me better understand the Warranty. My understanding the original purchaser is covered for 5 years on the unit and 3 years on the battery. Correct?

Also, if there is a problem with the unit how is it serviced? Also, what is the criteria used for the batteries? Is there a clear simple way to gauge the battery?

Hi Jeff, you've got it. The original purchaser is warranted for 5 years on the tool and 3 years on the battery and charger. Purchases must be made through one of our authorized retailers. A simple search tool for authorized retailers can be found on our website here:

The units are serviced based on what is wrong. For all warranty direction, it's best to contact our customer service team first at 1-855-346-5656. They can then advise you if a part is available for simple replacement or what the next steps would be for service. At the moment, service is handled by The Home Depot in the US and authorized service centers in Canada. Batteries, as with tools, are evaluated over the phone with our customer service team as issues arise.

We hope this answers all of your questions.
