I purchased the Ego 21" lawn mower 3 months ago. I am trying to take off the blade to sharpen it but am unable to loosen the nut. I am using a 14mm socket as recommended but it is not budging. I have also tried putting oil/lubrication to no avail. Any recommendations?

The bolt (not a nut) is torqued to around 40 ft lbs so you need a lot of oomph to loosen the bolt. Torque wrench is ideal but a standard wrench with a long pipe of other way to add leverage can get the job done. Make sure you are securing the blade from moving by putting a screwdriver or other ridgid thing into the opening in the bottom of the mower intended for that.

Avoid the oil and get a bigger wrench - you just need leverage working in your favor (and in a counter clockwise direction).  A nice pair of leather gloves works much better than a screw driver to hold the blade steady for me.
