Two consecutive backpack blowers had no batteries in box!

Spent nearly two hours and two trips back to Home Depot to find out neither had the 5.0A battery in the box! I currently own an eGo mower, a blower, and two trimmers and love the products, just very disappointed that I had to spend so much time and travel and ended up with Home Depot taking a battery off of a display model that has a manufacture date of December 2016! Now I’m a bit concerned as to the quality control and future performance of this item.

That's odd. I wonder whether someone is opening the boxes and stealing the batteries. Did they look like they had been opened?

I wouldn't have accepted a battery from a display model, at least without a serious discount. I think I would have ordered the blower online with home delivery.

I’m almost certain the boxes were sealed from the factory. Still had the factory “round” tape closures and seemed untouched! Yeah, I really am a bit skeptical and I’ve been such a fan of eGo and recommended their products to many of my friends and family. A little disappointed to say the least!

I use to work at HD and theft is a number one problem everywhere, ninety percent of it comes from employees. One trick is to open boxes from the bottom and carefully reseal. Not sure what is happening in your case but the HD in my city all have the batteries under lock and key.

Hmmmm, never even crossed my mind. But, I will follow-up with HD and give them that information just in case! That’d be a good idea; take out batteries and lock them up! I think I’ll have to check the bottom of my second box and see if it looked tampered with.

In some cases the batteries are being shipped separately due to hazmat rules. One of the mowers I purchased came that way. Home Depot should know if this happens.
