My current trimmer is a goner, deciding on buying a 13inch 40v 2ah battery with charger for my yard. How long should the battery last? I did have a 12inch black & Decker that came with 2 18v batteries. It would take 1 to 1 and 1/4 batteries to finish yard. Will the 40v with one 2ah battery do the trick or not, and how much power would I have left? Any help would be great. I have to go cheap, the other choice is a 12inch with a 24v 2ah battery. They are only20bucks apart so it's between them. Any help would be great asap.

Scott, this isn't a general tool forum, it's specifically for Ego's line of 56-volt tools.

Telling us how many battery charges your previous trimmer took to do your yard really doesn't tell us anything. Actual runtime is what counts.

That said, I think you'll find most people here would recommend Ego's 15-inch trimmer over the company's 12-inch trimmer. Ego's 2.0 Ah battery lasts 20-30 minutes with that trimmer if not more, assuming you aren't running it full speed the whole time (which you don't need to do).

However, it's not going to qualify under your "I have to go cheap" requirement.
