SO far, I have really been happy with my EGO trimmer and blower.. no cords and no engine noise in my ear really changed how a feel about that part of yard work. I took the leap and purchased the hedge trimmer today.. My wife cut my extension cord in half last year... now I won't have to worry about that again !! lol

Certainly, the big test for me is how this performs next season after the batteries sit over the winter.... I know that EGO planned for this and I am hoping it works in the real world. If the battery can actually go 3 years and power the tools as well as it does now.. that would be awesome.. and buying another battery would be no big deal....

Add your wife to the growing list of people who've actually cut the cord before going battery electric to "cut the cord". :-)

I myself have never cut my extension cord with a hedge trimmer, but boy have I ever tried with the old corded push mower! I tempted fate almost every time I pushed that wretched thing around my yard, but alas, I never actually got the blade to bite. In hindsight, I'm lucky I didn't do it as it may have happened before Ego was on the market... and I may have ended up with an inferior cordless yard tool collection!

My issue with a hedge trimmer always seemed to be stepping on the cord and then lifting the trimmer to cut something higher up... only to pull the plug out of the cord. Yep, that's another frustration I can (and now do) live without.

I also have the string trimmer, blower, and hedge trimmer along with the mower. I'm very happy with their performance and ease of use.
