Trigger

Hello, I have the 1502sf trimmer. Lately, the trigger seems to have more of a dead spot, or more of a delay when starting. I also occasionally hear the motor “groan” a little bit on startup at very low speed like there’s a problem with the switch. It doesn’t render the trimmer useless but it is much harder to control than it was. Does this sound like a potential warranty issue?

Being an outdoor tool there is always the possibility of the switch being dirty.  If you hadn't already done so, I would try cleaning the trigger switch by blowing it out with air.  But if that doesn't work, I would consider taking it in for warranty service.

If you can, I would probably wait for the season to be over first.  This way you can continue to keep you lawn trimmed.  Everything that I have read suggests a long repair time.  And call Ego's warranty center to report the problem and your intentions if your warranty is near expiration.

Did you get the trigger switch problem fixed? I’m having the same issue with the stx 3800

It started working right the next time I used it. Now that I won’t be using it as much I think I’m going to take a little bit of time to study it. It’s done this once before. I’ll let you know if it does it again. It’s weird.
