A great use for an EGO 56 volt battery would be to supply back up power to a sump pump. In this way you would be using your battery all of the time and still be able to use it for your tools when you need them

A few weeks ago I had to rent a generator to power our fridge and freezer during a power outage, though I have lots of Ego batteries sitting in the garage.

One of the downsides of a battery driven sump pump is if you have a constant flow your battery will be drained rather quickly...unless you are checking it, you could be in for a nasty surprise...Here is an outfit who have thought out the problem...You can even check on your system while you are away from home...:)

With recent heavy rain in my area I was thinking would be nice to have an EGO powered back-up sump pump. Many of the lead-acid 12V batteries are rated around 65 A-Hr so a 7.5 A-Hr is not too far off.

It would be nice to have cordless water pumps for the Pro and the homeowner. No more noise from those loud gas water pumps.

How long would the EGO power a sump pump?
