Struck it big with a local arborist

I was on my way home from my monthly back therapy when I noticed an arborist at the bottom of my street.  I pulled into the side and had a chat with the two guys as they were pulling out their equipment.

As I am an artisan who makes live edge wooden cutting boards, the thought of some free wood was just too appealing to pass up trying.  After some small talk and pleasantries, it turnes out they had a long 7' x 13" dia piece of cherry in the truck back that they were going to take back to the yard for their monster chipper, so I asked them if I could have it if all they were going to do is throw it essentially away.  No problem, but it's rather heavy.

Pulled out my EGO and chopped it in half easily and loaded it into the back of my Edge.  Got it home and the ends sealed with latex for the next 2 years to nicely dry.   Thanks EGO for making my day.
