Come on, work with us. We want to help but we need more information. How long have you had the trimmer? Did it work OK before? Describe your problem to us.

Bought almost four years ago. My mother was using it to knock down some tall grass and it got bound up. She said there was a wisp of smoke and it stopped working. Tried two different batteries, both were charged. Motor grinds for a second and nothing.

Official Response
I'm not an expert on electric motors, but the wisp of smoke worries me. If you've cleared all the debris that was bound up and it still doesn't work, I think you'll need to call Ego's customer service about your next steps. The trimmer carries a five-year warranty, but I don't know whether this situation would be covered.

You can reach them at 1-855-EGO-5656 (1-855-346-5656) from 8:30AM - 8:00PM EST (Monday - Friday) & 10:00AM - 6:00PM EST (Saturday & Sunday).

This is their busy season, so call as early in the day as you can to avoid long wait times.
