Wow, that’s awesome for anyone getting into the Ego platform!!!

Too bad we don’t get deals like this in Canada... either kit costs $300 here.

Yeah that's a pretty nice price point to get some new users. Might have to tell the neighbors.

This is very tempting.  Outside of the EGO lawn mower,  all my other cordless lawn tools are from the 20V Black and Decker line.  Since the B&D have been sitting in the garage unused all winter long, I'll have to test them and see if they still work. Maybe if I'm lucky, they no longer work which would give me a reason to buy these EGO tools as replacements.

OK, so I'm doing my homework. I don't really need a new trimmer or leaf blower this year and had planned on just purchasing (done) the lawn mower purchase this year and wait until next year to expand my EGO line. Here is my question for those that know EGO well:  Would you jump at buying these older generation of products this year OR use that money next year to help buy the newer EGO trimmers/blowers (the POWERLOAD String Trimmer w/ Carbon Fiber Split Shaft and 580 Blower)?

Of course, by next year the Powerload trimmer and 580 blower will be old generation too. I've noticed my mower (21" non self propelled) has gone down $100 since I bought it a year and a half ago so maybe the powerload and 580 will also come down some by next year.

Still hoping someone that has had experience with these versions of EGO products and the latest weigh in here. Would you buy this bundle now (and wait several years to upgrade to newer EGO products) or would you wait a year to buy the "latest version" of EGO products? My wallet currently can't afford to buy the 580 blower and carbon/powerhead trimmer this year.

"I don't really need a new trimmer or leaf blower"
To me, you answered your own question.  I am not sure what you want us to tell you.
Keep your powder dry and wait for something or sometime when you really need it and you will feel much better with your purchase.

It sounds to me if you buy these now you will just be looking longingly at the newest, latest, and greatest and will be less than thrilled with your purchase.

@Bryan:  If you think like that you will never buy anything.  All products are evolving year after yer.  That's the nature of the beast.  My advice is, you buy now and use the products until something comes in better and you can't live without it, or the one you have wears out.  If you strategy is to always get the best, you will never get it cause the best is always yet to come.

I'm buying these if I can find a way to get them by friday :(

Thanks to both replies. I realize products are always evolving, but in this case it's not like waiting for EGO to develop and evolve a better model...they already have something better.   szwoopp reads me well. I think I'll stick with my B&D trimmer/blower for another year...and purchase the 580 Blower and Carbon/Powerhead trimmer next year. Ray...congrats on your purchase if you hit the "buy" button.

I own the snowblower, two of the self propelled mowers, one backpack blower, hedge trimmer and string trimmer.  Also I have 4 - 7.5 amp  and  2 - 5.0 amp batteries and 3 Rapid Chargers and one regular charger.

I just ordered this dynamic duo special offering from home depot.

After placing the order, I went to the website and saw that these two same units sell for $179 each with 2.5 A batteries and chargers, which totals $359, NOT $379, So I thought I was saving $100 but in reality only saving $80.

I am a believer in truth in advertising and though I am a real fan of these products, it is disappointing to know that this is either inaccurate or untrue or misleading.

Probably what's confusing the math is that Home Depot's has both units individually at a "New Lower Price". In the past the "New Lower Price" at Home Depot isn't always permanent. So I don't think this is a saving of "over $100" from the original cost and not the  "new low price".  My biggest complaint is that when it comes to EGO Products, Home Depot's non-sale prices make no sense (where batteries cost about as much as the tool w/battery) and this makes it difficult for the customer to know what is a good price. I'm at a point now that I don't think I'd ever buy a EGO product unless it was on sale or at a "new lower price".  Someone at Home Depot needs to look at their pricing formula/algorithms a lot closer.

Hey Bryan, I did not clarify well...the website is the EGOPOWER website not the Home Depot site.  Ego Power has the pricing wrong.

Alex, where do you see the price on EGO's website? I only see "Buy at Home Depot" as an option. Maybe we're in two different countries (I'm in the USA)  Could you provide a link?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Home Depot Spring Black Friday Sale.

Check out the prices on the 3 Ego products. I paid $499 for my 21" non SP mower with 5ah battery roughly a year and a half ago. $499 for the 21" SP with 7.5ah battery, such a deal. The new string trimmer price looks great too. Especially with battery and charger. I'm so tempted...

Is this a separate box or do I just get the two products individually?  In other words, will I be able to go to a store and buy it, or will they have to send it to me?

What is wrong with free shipping to your door or to the store and pick up at your convenience ?

I just need it this weekend :)  I talked with someone at homedepot online chat and they suggested that I take the add in and see if they will price match with separate pieces.  Unlikely to work, but still worth a try.

All good, I went to HomeDepot, had to talk to two managers, one finally understood my predicament and they made the deal.  I have a string trimmer, a blower and 2 batteries :)

The temptation was too great. I took the deal. I really like the idea of two 2.5Ah batteries and two chargers included in this blower/trimmer combo.
