I have the EGO 56-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Mower, Model Number LM21000SP. The SP in the model number is for "Self-Propelled". I have had this mower for about a year (two at the most) and now have an issue where the Self-Propelling system is not functioning. I press the self-propel trigger, a noise occurs under the chassis that sounds like clicking, and then the mower does not self-propel. Is there something wrong with the motor that runs the self-propel function? Is it possible that the bearings are shot and are locked up to the point that the self-propel does not work? That is what I am here to ask. Please help.

Pull the wheels off. Check the engagement gears.

If troubleshooting is beyond your ability, give Ego Customer Service a call and they'll help you troubleshoot the issue.

As Jacob suggested, some early mowers had plastic drive gears in the wheels that could be prone to stripping. It would seem this could be the problem with your mower.
