Purchased last summer and feature does not work now which is one of the main things I looked for in a purchase

My self propelled feature works but in SLOW mode only. Called customer service and my option was to lose the mower for who knows how long. I was not willing to do that. So I opened it up and checked the power coming to the speed controller it has none (with SP button on) Motor has power so traced the speed controller wires back to the electric assembly. It has a harness that I unplugged and plugged back in..and still slow mode. I unplugged and and tried and now it is high speed mode. (which is better then slow mode)...so testing leads me to think the issue is in the electric assembly. Calling CS again and checking and they made a note that I now voided my warranty by opening the unit up to perform the checks. Sorry but I am just not willing to lose my mower for a self propelled issue in the height of cutting season. IMO Home depot should have used or new models there either to swap out during the warranty period or to loan while yours is getting fixed. This will be my last ego mower and if something catostrophic (sp) happened to it anyway the warranty would be useless to me as it would end up in the garbage.

My mower is 15 months old....my mower after 20 minutes of use the self propelled portion will stick on high speed only....engaging the lever the mower will jump....i just push it.... then engage he lever...... then let is coast..only happens after 20 minutes use. Will be taking it to an authorized repair center!! Central Florida...HOT!!

what u should have done was take it in for repair, and immediately purchase ANY mower of your choice, from HD and return it within the permissible time frame for a full refund. if your mower still isn't fixed by then, repeat.

I'm beginning to wonder if this was a good purchase. I love the mower it's almost a year old now and the sp function just stopped. I like you can not be without a mower for several weeks. Why no spare parts avalible? If I turn it in for warranty work that takes many weeks just give back my money so I can go get something something else.

Again, it should never be months. We have agreed to a 4-6 week turnaround time with The Home Depot. Anything that takes more than that should be brought to Customer Service's attention right away, in order for the team to escalate the case internally and help get the issue resolved as quickly as possible.

Compared to a gas mower there is just too much that can go wrong with these mowers. The other problem is too few people to work on them. I'm not afraid to work on them. Now that I re-think this I have a warranty as long as home depot sells them because I will buy a new one..rip the part I need out of one..then return it for a refund, That is what EGO is breeding here.....

This is what Ego and Home Depot are breeding.....one or the other will wise up once they see enough of that happening, and fix the issue.
I'm guessing HD gets their Ego mowers, like many or most of the products, fronted to them by the manufacturers. They pay only for those sold, and get credited for those returned. Most companies with liberal return policies like that this seems to be the case.
