Is there any benefit in buying a second battery and alternate their usage to extend the life of both batteries. Also are there recommendation on how to extend battery life. I tend to run the battery right down, recharge it fully straight away and do the same a week later. I'm many using a 2024SP mower

Generally speaking, lithium batteries last longest if stored at a partial charge. This is why Ego batteries have a built in storage mode that drops the charge level to 30% after 30 days of inactivity.

My personal approach is to use the battery and then leave it. I charge just before mowing. This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, but realistically I have no idea how much of a difference this approach will make long term.

I personally wouldn't bother getting a second battery for the sake of extending battery life, but having a second and perhaps different size battery could be useful in case one stopped working or you wanted a smaller battery for a handheld tool for example.
