I'm just thinking as I see more and more used ego machines out on the market, if the future generation of equipment may eventually have some kind of run time display on the unit to show how many hours it has been run. I can't see such a little device being too expensive to add to the units, and it would help to know if one day I were to purchase a used ego mower that was used for 6 or 60 hours. At least on the bigger more expensive units such as the mowers and snow blowers Just a thought.

You make good points, but at the same time I have never once seen an hour meter on ANY consumer-grade OPE, not even expensive ride-on mowers. Yet they are ubiquitous on commercial equipment, even small push mowers.
I used to look at a lot of OPE when I worked for a company that financed inventory about 10 years ago and called on dozens of OPE dealers and distributors. If Ego added this they would be heavily leaning toward the pro side of prosumer, and I don't see much other than the backpack blower to indicate they are heading that direction.
But still a good idea, nonetheless.

True, but how many gas mowers or snow blowers have integrated motherboards to monitor things like run time? Shouldn't be too difficult with these ego machines, they have all the electronics built in, just need the implementation.

For all we know the implementation could already be there... it might just require INSTRUMENTATION. ;-)

There is software for laptop computer batteries that informs you how much time in the form of % there is left on the battery life. Best software ever for a laptop. It is called BatteryBar. I install it on all my rebuilt lappies...

Run time meaning how long the unit has been used for...kind of like an odometer on a car. Not a battery life gauge. Sorry for the confusion.

The only "smaller" unit I have that was an hour meter is a Honda generator, I have never seen a small wheeled unit that has an hour meter.
