I'm trying to replace the entire bump head assembly on a ST1500-S trimmer. I depressed the release tabs and removed the spool retainer assembly, but I'm unable to remove the bump head so I can unscrew the nut. Any suggestions?

Can you post a picture of the step you are stuck at?

Gordon, if it's the green bump knob you're stuck at, I believe you just give it a pull and it pops off. The spring follows and the nut is now accessible.

If memory serves. :-)

Blue Angel, Thank you very much for the suggestion.  I tried pulling the bump knob, but it wouldn't pop off.  I then tried using a flat head screw driver to pop it off and that worked.  The bump knob has 4 tabs on the interior, so I needed more leverage to pop the knob off.

Glad it worked out! :-)

This is good info as my bump head is not working.  I need to check the spring out and most likely replace.  Ego's video made removal look so simple and I didn't know if my model was different than the one shown.
