Refurbished snow blowers?

I originally purchased the snow blower at home depot with the two 5.0 batteries. Came in a nice colored box like the mower, everything packaged super neatly. Returned it after finding out the 7.5 came out. Picked up in store, brown box kind of beat up. Batteries came separate of course so i assumed it wasn't in a nice box since it doesn't sit on a shelf. Opened it at home to realize the plastic on the right side handle where the cables go through was broken off. Some minor scratches here and there as well, just didn't seem as new as the 5.0 I originally picked up. It turns on fine and I put some glue to keep the plastic in place as returning it and reordering it is more hassle than it's worth. Is this normal or is it possible I ended up with a refurb snow blower? Just wondering what other peoples experience with the 7.5 snow blower has been. Thanks!

I just got my snow blower and I'm missing both 7.5 batteries. It came in a brown box as well unlike my mower and leaf blower.

The two batteries had to be shipped separately due to shipping restrictions on the batteries. My question was more about the overall condition of the machine. Thank you for stating that it was a brown box as well tho thought i got screwed for a sec lol

My box states that the two batteries are in it. Home Depot hasn't sent any type of information that the batteries are being sent separately and the battery manual is in the box. I e-mailed both tonight since their customer support is closed for the night, but will be calling them both tomorrow.

Spark, while it's not impossible, I somehow doubt you got a previously owned snowblower just based on how new the product is and that there's been almost no snow so far?

Difficult to say when I can't see the box, but is it possible it was just shipping damage?

We do not sell refurbished tools. The 7.5Ah batteries ship separately from all snow blower kits. We've tried to highlight this fact in 3 different places on homedepot.com to be more clear. Please note that the batteries should arrive within 1-2 business days of your snow blower. The brown box is not a sign that the tool has been refurbished. It's just an extra box to protect the packaging.

Batteries are shipped separately due to restrictions on shipping lithium batteries via the mail (likely more $), so with a smaller package it saves shipping costs.  It is clear on the HD Website and even in my shipping documents.
