Finally received my side discharge chute from a request put in back in April. I have not had a chance to try it yet and I JUST mowed my 1/3 acre of South Florida horribly thick lawn. I may take it out for a test run later today as the grass grows like weeds....Actually it is a weed!

There is no reason why a side discharge chute should NOT be included in the box of a lawn mower with this kind of price tag. Inexcusable !!!!!!

Stephen, thanks for reporting back in.  Chris, we are now including the side discharge chute with all new mowers next year.  We learned our lesson. :(

@Stephen Shebes - nothing like a spread-out windrow to end your cut!  ;)

I haven't received mine either.  But I guess I don't want it to shoot grass all over.  I would like a better mulching blade.

I guess it might be a good option to have a chute but it would be nice to have the option.

I really don't have a problem with the mulching function, sometimes some clipping left on the lawn but one pass and they're gone.

A good mulching mower would not require a follow-up pass.  Don't you find that a waste of your time?  (not to mention battery power.  :)  )

Well, it takes me about 20 minutes to mow my entire lawn so backtracking and adding a few minutes isn't going to kill me.  And I'm not talking about clippings all over the lawn, it's just here and there when I've let the lawn grow too long.  If I was really concerned about wasting time mowing I'd pay someone else to mow it.  Besides, I like it a lot better than my last mower.

Since I love using this mower, nope it doesn't bother me a bit to do a follow up pass (tho I haven't yet found the need to, as mine mulches just fine)

I need the exercise and it's a better use of time than griping on this forum.

Oh and I got my side discharge yesterday, just a week after I was told it may be 3 weeks.  Haven't tried it yet, maybe tonight.

I wish my lawn would grow faster.

If the grass is a little damp, even from dew, I overlap my passes just a bit, but if the grass is dry my 20-inch mower mulches just fine.

It's been raining so much here lately that I really need to mow about every four days.
