Had our first snowfall that stuck to the pavement last night. It was only an inch but I was itching to try this thing out. For reference I previously had a 24" 2-stage self propelled machine.
Because it's lightness, folding handle, and small footprint I can store the EGO in a place in my garage that I don't have to move things around to get it out like the larger 2-stage. This allowed me to wheel it out of the garage in no time and close the door (my garage is heated so this is a plus).
Much nicer to push a button and pull a bar to be ready to use. When I first went to move forward I did miss my old self-propelled but then as I moved along my technique adjusted to let it move more freely. This wasn't' a big enough snow to give full judgement but I think I can clean my drive quicker with this EGO because I have lots of reversals and the lightness and ease to move the discharge shoot with a lever.
What I REALLY didn't like is it's poor adjustment to uneven pavement/sidewalk sections. I never thought of snow blowing when a few years back our concrete drive was replaced. My wife and I liked the "California" edging. This leaves speed bumps! My 2-stage would hit them and bounce but keep going. Since the EGO is a push machine it just stops. The same thing happens to a couple uneven sidewalk sections I have. This machine needs adjustable side wear slides or a less aggressive/sharp scraper bar.
