I bought a Greenworks (blasphemy!) corded dethatcher this year for about $100 from Amazon. It does a light dethatching, not heavy raking like a guy I'd paid to do it a previous year. It does a decent job but it's fairly light and tends to ride on top of the grass in the denser areas so the lawn needs to be mowed pretty low before use. I would love for EGO to market one that two batteries could be used in. I think the weight of the batteries would help keep the unit at the desired, lower height where's able to rake up/loosen the thatch. Certainly this isn't a machine that would be used frequently but as with an aerator it could be used for neighbors as well which could help defray the cost for the purchaser.
