$329.00 on the HD website.

Anyone else seen this or heard anything?  They have it listed as out of stock.  The page also does not mention it being a refurbished model either.  I wonder if they are clearing out the 4.0 Ah models perhaps?

That is the older model (LM2000).

It indicates on the website that it is the LM2000-S model which is the same model that I have. My serial number plate indicates that mine was manufactured in December 2014.

Still, Jen has mentioned that we should get ready for some new products soon.

Hmm, I just bought my LM2001 today. I did get $100 off because someone returned it without cleaning it up first. I was happy to clean out the deck for $100. :-) It seems great so far. I wish my grass was ready to mow...I may have to go find some.

Update: I just realized that I got swindled. Home Depot sold me an LM2000, manufactured in 2013. I wondered why they were so friendly about selling it to me. I will be returning it tomorrow.

Update #2: I just learned that LM2000-S refers to the mower alone (presumably without the battery or charger). I'm still planning to return my "bargain", since it could have been used for a year before being returned.

P.S. - this is not a knock on Ego, or even Home Depot. I should have looked at the manufacture date before I bought a returned item.

My mower which is the S model, came as a kit with the battery and charger in the box and all three pieces have distinct serial numbers. At the end of the day it doesn't matter to me as I am very happy with the mower, trimmer, and blower that I purchased and believe they are all well worth the price I paid.

Official Response
Hi everyone! Before this gets out of hand, the mower you are all seeing with this link is the bare mower (available without a battery and charger included). It's anticipated to be in stock within the next two weeks. The title online is being edited to reflect that it's a tool without a battery and charger.

Thanks for the update.  I did not mean to stir things up.

Hi Ben, it's not a problem.  We just know when people see different pricing everyone gets very excited and we didn't want anyone to get their hopes up that we were running a huge sale or clearing out inventory.

Thank you, that was very confusing (on the Home Depot site).

John, we're glad we could clear that up for you.  That's why we're changing the title online so it's nice and clear what you'll get if you order this mower.  :)

Price Drop at HD: $399 for LM2001 w/ 4amp battery.

I hope this means that an updated mower is coming next spring, with additional height settings.

BDOK, that price drop happened several months ago, late June or early July. There's another thread around here discussing it.

In fact, I was able to get Home Depot to refund me the $100 difference because I was still within the 90-day return window.

Good timing, Ken!

If I were a betting man, I'd be thinking more along the lines of a new mower kit with 5Ah battery, rather than a redesigned mower.

Let's face it; Ego's mower is still at the top of the class, which is all the more impressive when you consider it was launched BEFORE most of its competition.

I'd say a minor change like this is within the realm of possibility, much more so than something like a self-propelled model. Assuming the change requires nothing more than modifying the height selection plate, this wouldn't be any more major than the few other updates Ego has made since the initial launch (blade mounting plate, handle clamps, grass grooming fins).

Of course such a minor change might only result in a 0.5" increase, if even that.
