Possibility of smaller or lighter mower?

I'm just wondering if there's a possibility of a future mower that will be smaller or lighter than 20". My situation involves a rather small lawn (takes < 5 min with my 21" gas), plus a small patch in front for which I'd have to carry it briefly over an immovable obstacle. So for these reasons I'd like a higher quality mower such as EGO but wouldn't mind a smaller form factor that is also lighter. If it's cheaper that's a bonus too. I don't want a light but disposable 18V Ryobi.

Not that any of us can predict the future, but what do you think? Maybe an EGO rep can shed light.

I don't think there's much of a market.

Based on? I do see an awful lot of 16, 17, 18 inch mowers out there in the corded and battery varieties. Obviously, I don't have sales data. But companies are selling them.

Probably a better chance of Ego (or someone) developing this little mower sled like the B&D one for use with the 15" trimmer:

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Smaller Mower.

My daughter is currently looking for a small mower for her townhouse and would like a battery one.  She knows all about my love of EGO but the current mowers are too big / cumbersome for what she needs. A smaller 13 - 16" mower would be perfect something like the Ryobi 18v or 36v".  Even then the EGO battery, even the 2.5 A/h, may be too big for such an idea.  It isn't a commercial or big and meaty mower but is an area of the market which is growing in urban areas..
