Hi Matt,

This has been discussed by many and I believe EGO is researching blade designs.  There is a rather long discussion about the blade in another thread.  While the blade is perfect for most yard purposes, and does a great job mulching (at least for me), I don't know if a high lift blade would be feasible.

The reason?  The high lift blade will also pull more twigs and thicker underbrush.  While the mower is built with a very nice deck, the wear caused on the deck might be cause for concern.  I tried a modified blade (very high lift) and did not like what I experienced.  It will bog down the mower and probably cause abnormal wear.

EGO is actively looking at ways to improve the design and I'm sending them one I tried to look at.  They are open to suggestions and if you have a design, share it with the support team.  They are GREAT.

You aren't the only one who would like to see a blade with a bit more lift and mulching capability.  One quick tip, sharpen your blade to a razor like sharpness after every cut, if you can.  The cut is fantastic.
