One of my 7.5 Ah batteries are failing - ARRRRGH!!!! Time for warranty service... #nervous

So... I own two (2) of the 7.5 AH batteries.  Both were manufactured in November 2014, but I purchased one of them in June 2015 and the other May of 2016.  I have no idea which is which because the serial numbers don't reflect the date I registered them in my EGO account.  :(

Anyway, I rotate between the two every other week cutting two different lawns.  Lately, I've noticed one of them didn't seem to last nearly as long as the other, so I ran a benchmark test this afternoon to find out which one was the problematic battery.


  • Both batteries depleted and fully charged.
  • 21" SP mower, set to run with a bungee chord engaging the blade, sitting parked.  No load - just running and sitting still.
  • Kept units in shade during test.  It's about 82F today.


Battery 1:

1 hour, 25 minutes - low battery light comes on
1 hour, 30 minutes - mower shut down.  Battery depleted.

Battery 2:

1 hour, 2 minutes - low battery light comes on
1 hour, 10 minutes - mower shuts down.  Battery depleted.

This is quite a difference in performance.  I'm submitting a warranty claim; will advise how my experience goes in this thread.  Wish me luck!  :/
