No power to chainsaw

I just bought an additional batter for my chainsaw.  The chainsaw was working fine until a put the new fully charged battery on it.  Now the chainsaw does not work.  It is not receiving any power from either the old or new battery. Nothing else has changed.  I can move the chain easily by hand.  There is no buzzing or sound as if it is trying to work. Not sure where to trouble shoot this problem as there is not an engine to take apart.
