I just purchased a new snow blower at Home Depot (11-2017).  It has a manufacturing date of Aug. 2016.  I charged the batteries and gave it a test run in the 60 deg. garage under no load.  Everything works, except the power indicator on the snow blower flashes orange when I shut it off.  The battery lights remain green. Seems to only happen when the LED headlights are turned on when I shut the snow blower off.  If I don't turn the LED headlights on, the power indicator remains green.  I read another conversation from 10 months ago that some other folks had similar issues.

Does anyone know if my machine's behavior indicates a manufacturing problem, and if so, has that manufacturing problem been solved.

How is the snow blower's power indicator supposed to react when shutting the snow blower off with the LED headlights lit?

Thanks!

Doug,
That was a problem reported last year when they first came out. I had to return  two units for the same problem, before I received a 3rd unit that worked without the problem. When you shut the unit down with good battery power levels, and the headlights are on, you should not get the flashing orange lights. You should not get any warning lights. You will have to call EGO Customer Support, and report the problem. They will help you out.

Thanks for your replies!

I just re-read the operating manual, which says on page 22 "The power indicator will illuminate when the auger is rotating or when the LED headlights are turned on."  When you shut off the snow blower auger with the headlights on, maybe the flashing orange power indicator is to remind you to turn off the headlights before walking away.  But you should be able to repeatedly start and stop the snow blower while leaving the headlights on, so I'm conceding that this is still a problem.

So to clarify - your replacement machines that work correctly allow you to repeatedly start and stop the snow blower auger while leaving the headlights on the entire time, and shows only a green power indicator light on the snow blower?

Yes Doug, you are correct, I only see the green light.
