Hey David, have you checked all of the safety mechanisms?

The handle must be clicked into one of the height settings and the handle must be fully extended (beyond the arrows) with the clamps locked. And you have to hold the green safety key down before and while you pull the blade start lever. Those are the two most common issues that aren't perfectly clear in the instructions.

If that doesn't help, is the battery fully inserted into the mower? Do the headlights turn on when you push the headlight button?

If the hedlights come on, the battery indicator is green, and it isn't a safety mechanism keeping it from starting, give Ego a call at (855) EGO-5656 and they should be able to help further. Go ahead and make sure your mower is registered before calling to expedite things.

Awesome summary!

Probably not the case but if the mower is sitting on thick grass when starting.. Or a root. But likely you would hear some kind of noise for a moment.

I just thought I read that somewhere. So I almost didn't even mention it.

The summary doesn't say their customer service is non-existant.  Awesome if its PR they want.  Terrible when customer service was in a staff meeting all Friday afternoon and not answering the calls during the times their publications say they are open.

FYI, the mower was sitting on my driveway.  No grass within 25 feet.
My mower had the same situation and this board helped as it was the handle that needed to be pulled out completely. I love my mower!

With the battery removed (for safety), can you rotate the blade by hand; that will tell you if the motor is some how seized.  Is this a 20" or 21"?  If you bought it at HomeDepot, I would recommend exercising their 90 day return policy, and returning it for a replacement.

This is a ten month old thread... the 90 day window may have passed. :-D

Sorry, couldn't help it!
