Hello. I called customer service, but the rep I talked to didn't really know.
I see a lot of "new" Ego equipment on the web from regular sellers who regularly post/sell power tools and know they don't have the factory warranty. But surely all of this can't be stolen. One thing i notice from from most of them on the pictures, is they have some kind of yellow marking/writhing on them. Are these customer returns that they have bought in high volume from Home Depot to sell?

Most likely that is exactly what they are.  Someone posted here not that long ago that they bought a container full of stuff from HD and had a lot of Ego stuff available.

When merchandise gets returned (e.g. 90 day return policy), Home Depot and Ego would need to either: a) return it to Ego, b) dispose of it.  Dependent on what the manufacturer and the retailer work out for an agreement, one or the other will "eat" the cost rather than shipping it back.

Regardless, it might be new, but without a warranty, you're taking a calculated risk.  I bought a 20" gen 1 mower from craiglists, didn't have the original 4.0AH battery.  But in the end, it worked out because I used it with the 5.0AH battery from a tool set I bought.
