I just bought my EGO backpack blower. I noticed the Battery was dated March 2017. This means the battery is over a year old. I am only getting about 20 minutes out of a new charge. Could this be because of the battery's age?  What are my options at this point?

Hi James,

The backpack blower is rated at 22 min continuous use on the high setting. From the manual:

The age of the battery won’t be an issue, it’s only about a year old and Ego’s batteries go into a long term storage mode when sitting more than a month without use.

Hi James,
I agree with Blue Angel, I use the backpack blower commercially daily, and 20-25 minutes
on high sounds about right with the 5.0AH battery, especially if you're using turbo occasionally.
The only remedy currently is to have additional batteries and rotate them.
I love the backpack though, and my BR 600s are collecting dust :-)

PS: The battery date is fine, I purchased mine about a month and a half ago, and they are all dated from 2017.
