Need to know the size of the nut used to attach the handle to the 15" trimmer. Lost one!

I was putting the trimmer together.  I got to the part where I had to take the handle apart and reassemble it around the shaft.  When I took the screws out of the it, on of the nuts countersunk into the bottom of the clasp feel out.  I searched everywhere and can't find it.  Now one of the screws won't stay in.

Can someone tell me what bolt I need to get from my local hardware store in order to replace it?

thanks

Hi Rob! Thank you for your post and we are sorry to hear that the bolts fell out of your 15" string trimmer. Unfortunately we do not have the size of the nut and bolt for this part; however, we can definitely help you by sending you the complete handle assembly. Or, if you prefer not to wait for the part, you can take the entire handle assembly to any local hardware store to see if they can match up the correct size. If you choose to have us send you the part, please either give our customer support center a call at (855) 346-5656, and have the serial numbers for your products ready when calling so that we can register your products and place the order; -or- send an email to support@egopowerplus.com with a good contact number and one of our EGO specialists will call you back to assist you with this issue.

The machine screw and nut have a 10-32 (#10, 32 thread per inch) thread:

The screw has a thread length of just under 1", but a 1" screw would work just fine:

The most important part! The nut measures 0.31" across the flats. A nut larger than this may not fit into the hexagonal recess in the handle bracket:

And don't forget the #10 spring and flat washer under the screw head:
