I don't understand what you are saying. Are you saying you want to hedge trimmer that can reach 12 feet from the ground?

Official Response
The Ego power head with extension pole and pole saw attachment total about 10 feet.
So if you are talking 12 feet including the user - that should do the job.

if you can wait a few days- I will be able to positively and thoroughly report/review the limitations of this combination.
Finally gave up: waiting for home depot.ca and ordered me a complete power-head  system (all attachments). Currently in he mail.

I have 16-17 ft hedges that need cutting down to about 13-14 ft. I will of course be on a scaffold.... but hopping that the 31 extension (even though not for/recommended) for the hedge trimmer attachment-  will somehow work.
The scaffold with 1 section- will lift me 5ft of the ground.....I would prefer an orchard ladder- but none around here.
My other problem being that a 3ft head cut equals a possibly thick trunk- maybe the pole cutter will also be used.

Just back from Massena NY with my goodies.... woohoo...... (+ i hope i win the powerball this week haha).
all in all not to bad for a 2.5hr rountrip roadtrip and a bit of drooling at what a real homedepot store stocks!
exchange,Gas and tolls factored in it was about equal to what it would have cost here.
more to come shortly.

So had a few tries with the hedge trimmer. Overall as designed (no extension pole). it easily reaches 10 ft at a comfortable grip:
I'm six feet tall, holding the power-head almost vertical the end of the PH is at 7ft and change (left hand holding the shaft just bellow the end junction as i haven't attached the handle yet.
The hedge attachment adds another 2.5 ft - so about 9.5 ft easy in length when cutter at horizontal for tops.
Ten feet hedge top cuts are therefore very comfortable with minor stretch. Add a bit of an awkward hold and likely 11 feet are very attainable.
12ft- not so much....but a small step stool and your there. The sides would be no effort as in vertical it reaches 2 feet longer.

Now the posibly dangerous, non-recommended part:

Powerhead systems have a 31 inch extension for the pole saw attachment- it WILL attach to the hedge trimmer attachment too. (i feared it wouldn't).
the whole tool becomes a little wonky and heavy with it- as there is a lot of tip weight and therefore the best battery for me seems to be the 7.5AH to compensate. With this setup the center of gravity ends up at the PH  attachment point once again.
You better be strong and in shape as this is a lot of weight to control!. Don't think speed or finesse as this is a very "last resort" solution.  You need to man handle this setup....and yet not be so rough as to break it all...... remember in near vertical there is little stress on the shaft but swinging it will cause added stress!.
Over 12 feet- get a scaffold!- like me, and play safe!

Look at this crazy setup! my shed sofits are 8ft even. overall hoding this wonky thing= 14+ feet
