My mower has a build up of grass and debris under the mower deck.

The underside of mower deck should be cleaned after each use, as grass clippings, leaves, dirt and other debris will accumulate. This accumulation is undesirable, as it will promote rust and corrosion. Remove any build-up of grass and leaves on or around the motor cover (do not use water). Wipe the mower clean with a dry cloth.

Quick Tip:  Spraying the under deck with a non-stick cooking spray will help the mower from clippings sticking to the under deck.

I use Fluid Film.  I spray under the mower & blade.  The grass does not stick.  You can pick up a can at Lowes.

Until now I would just hose it off after every time I used it, but someone told me it was a bad idea because of all the electrical parts (but it worked that way.....)

How long has the Ego lawn mower been on the market? How many customers have not been able to buy PARTS if needed ? Like a new charger if it over charges the batteries? Blades , ect.ect. How many models are there  in the cordless battery mowers ? How many price hikes have been noticed for parts , that seem too high per year. Who in the area code N3C 3E7 On. Canada repairs these mowers with experience ?

My grass clippings were thick and they would amass even though I would spray the underside with a lubricant.  But I found that if I removed the heavy dried grass with a spatula, I could use Triple Action SHOUT stain remover.  It washes off well with high-pressured water hose.  I'm going to get some Clean Deck Graphite to help in future grass-clipping management.

Graphite didnt work for me at ALL.   I since switched to car wax.  so far it seems better.  However, the plastic that Ego uses isn't nearly as good, IMO, as the Xenoy decks that Honda used in years past.  Those decks are naturally slippery and super-durable as well as very rigid.  I miss the rigidity of my Honda.  Too bad the Harmony I had wasn't available in an electric version. :)  The ONLY reason I switched to Ego was to get away from having gas lawn implements.  It cut better, and handled better than the Ego. It vacuumed up stuff very well, unlike the Ego which is worthless for vacuuming up twigs, or leaves, dirt, small debris either on the grass or on the sidewalk.  The Ego mower flexes a lot, while the Honda had no noticeable flexure.
