Call Ego customer service at 1-855-EGO-5656 (1-855-346-5656) from 8:30AM - 8:00PM EST (Monday - Friday) & 10:00AM - 6:00PM EST (Saturday & Sunday) and they'll walk you through the steps to have a replacement battery shipped out to you under warranty.

Call earlier in the day to get through quicker.

It looks like I may have replied to your vent/rant before seeing this post. Anyway, the more details the better.

batteries and battery support are egregiously poor.  Cannot recommend to anyone

How so? Ego's batteries carry a three-year warranty. Anyone here who has had a problem has had a replacement within days. I had a 2.0 Ah battery go bad on me a couple of years ago and I had a replacement in four days.

Are there some details you aren't sharing with us for some reason?

Ditto on the battery support. My one year old 4.0 amp hour battery began to fail intermittently. One phone call to customer support and a new battery arrived in a couple of days. I cannot say enough about EGO products and support.

Reading Robert's second post about support being "egregiously poor," when that is not the experience most people around here have had when batteries go bad, I believe this is a road we've been down before.

My guess is that Robert either bought his trimmer through an unauthorized seller on eBay or otherwise doesn't have proof of purchase.

Robert, even if you didn't register your trimmer and battery when you bought it, Ego is OK with you doing so after the fact, either online or by calling the phone number I posted above. If you can't find your receipt and you bought it from a legitimate source, you can easily obtain a replacement receipt, especially from Home Depot. I've had to do that and it took HD about 5 seconds to find my purchase record. Online merchants like Amazon obviously have purchase records in your account profile.
