Mower immediately stalling out, yellow light flashing, when I go to start it. Blade spins before it stalls.

My 21" mower will not start. It is not self-propelled. The blade will start to spin when I go to start it, but will quickly stop and the flashing yellow light will come on. This has been happening for the last few times that I've mowed, but has gotten progressively worse. After some tries, it would eventually start. The last time it took over ten minutes. I tried longer than that today, but it kept stalling out immediately.

Hey, not offering any help but I think I have exactly the same issue. I tried removing the blade and it runs fine without it. Does it do the same for you?

I haven't taken the blade off.  I wondered if it was out of balance and that was causing the problem.

I haven't been able to wrestle the blade off as of yet.  I'll let you know if I do.  I thought maybe the blade was off balance and was going to try to correct that with a carbide sharpener.

Impact wrench to remove the blade...then after checking balance tighten the bolt with a TORQUE wrench...The recommended torque for the blade bolt is 36-43 ft-lb (49-59Nm)...DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN
