I have first generation mower that has worked great for 3 years for under 30 minute mow jobs. After buying a 7.5 ah battery and using it for longer times the lawnmower will overheat and shut off for 5 to 10 minutes to cool down. It is not the battery overheating as I can stick a fresh cool battery in and the mower will still have to cool down. My mower does not have the plastic fan behind the blade. I was wondering if one could be bought and installed to help with overheating? I do not load down the mower hard enough to make the yellow light flash while mowing, but the grass can get moist in the hot humid louisiana summer and wont dry out. I use fresh blade, keep under deck relatively clear and have deck set on 4 and mow every week. Was thinking about getting a steel deck mower with 1000w brushless motor if that would help.

Always sharpen your blade. That has to be what is wrong. Sharpen every 2 hours of use. Trust me, I've got hundreds of hours on this mower.
