I aquired an LM2140SP back in November, I only now opened the box as now the season started (box is in good shape). It looks like the axis between the front wheels is bent on both sides, see pictures. It it really bent, or am I supposed to do anything to fix it?

Yep, that's not supposed to happen.  Unfortunately, unless you paid with the HD credit card, you are past the normal 90 day exchange period at HD, so may need to get warranty repair/replacement from Ego (they will send you to the HD repair center, but only after you call their customer support line to get a case number assigned.)

If you paid with a HD credit card, I believe you can take it directly back to HD for a replacement/exchange within 1 year of purchase.

Didn’t use an HD card to send mine in. You have 12 months from date of purchase.

What does "send mine in" mean?

Brought my mower into HD tool rental and they sent it into EGO (battery/mower issue). In your case, I would exchange it at the store since it was purchased that way.

Lesson learned on always checking package contents upon arrival?
Even though it's over 90 days for HD's standard return policy, it's likely they'll accept the return since it's obvious it was never used. They might only give you store credit, but that's ok. I say this because it happened to me with a small air compressor I needed to return a year after I bought it.
