I just bought the mower yesterday and I have to say that I am very impressed.  I had my doubts about a battery powered lawnmower providing the same performance as a gas powered mower but I am very happy with the results and I had planned on recommending it to my friends, but:

I purchased the mower at Home Depot and they could not give me their customary Military Discount and the reason is that EGO does not reimburse them for providing the discount.  Is this true?  Home Depot did eventually give me a discount for which I am very thankful.  Please let me know whether or not EGO will join with Home Depot in providing this discount to our nations veterans so I can pass this information on to my friends on the Army base in which I work.  Thank you.

Unless something has changed, HD does not pass any discount on to their suppliers. Some categories are higher margin than others, and the Ego products may not be very marked up from Home Depot's cost, but Home Depot eats any store wide discounts they give.

As far as I know, Home Depot only advertises a military discount a few times per year. But store managers can (and should) give a discount upon request any time.

Thank you for the information. I will contact Home Depot about this issue.

When I bought my mower at HD the cashier had to have a supervisor do the military discount.

David is correct.  We do not control the military discount and would have no reason at all to not allow it. Please check with your local Home Depot as this is completely out of our control.  We thank you for your service Mark.
