Would be great to see this next up in the future , honestly I think a 12v socket will be pretty useful given the hundreds of devices and adapters already out there. I currently use my ego nexus to power a portable fridge , which has both a 12v and a 120v ac input. I’m sure the dc to ac to dc is causing some power loss and drop in runtime. Would be great to see a EGO to 12V adapter with and output of 150-200 watts.

Shaun, would you mind sharing a picture of your fridge setup as well as info about the fridge?

It’s a dometic CC-40 fridge / freezer. I’ll get about 8 hours of runtime off the ego 4.0ah battery if I pre chill it to 34 degrees using the household power. Otherwise I’ll get about 6 hours. The fridge draws about 65 watts when the compressor is on and will cycle every 5 min or so. The fridge will accept 12/24 volt in addition to 120v and the compressor is natively DC , so I’m hoping runing 12v straight would yield longer run times off the ego battery.

Thanks. This is something to consider bringing along with our travel trailer in case of emergency or just want some extra cold storage.

It would be perfect for that. I bring it camping , and on road trips. While camping , I use a generator, however most of the spots don’t allow overnight generator use hence the ego setup to hold me through till the morning. The fridge is a bit pricey , but luckily I had the ego batteries already, and purchased the nexus during the 25 off promotion. Hopefully ego will see this and make a 12v adapter so we can squeeze more runtime in scenarios like you mentioned :-)

Thanks for sharing Shaun, I like your CC-40 fridge/freezer - got to get myself one of those.  Time to add another item to my Santa's wish list ... :-)

Definitely a 12v DC output would make this far more versatile.  Most of my gear and radios are setup for 12VDC for camping and emergencies.  Has anyone hacked into it yet to do a home made product improvement?
