Did you just get it? Make sure handle fully extended till lines are visible? Are you pressing/holding the green button first- before lowering the bar. The SP works all the time but the blade has all this other safety.

Along with David's comment about starting order. Be sure the handlebars are fully extended and the clamps are fully engaged. One thing you can try is to pull the mower backwards while trying to start the blade motor. If the blade motor wants to start when pulling the mower backwards, but cuts off when pushing it forward, the handle clamps are the problem.
Oh, have SP turned off when doing this.

Thanks David and Mike.  I've tried both ideas.  Readjusted handles several times, arrows show as they always have, but no luck.  It was a shock when blade didn't start.  It has always been perfect.

Does SP work?

Headlights work?

If not maybe battery not fully engaged?
